While I am not a great fan of the quality of Chanel’s nail polish (why oh why don’t they improve this??), the colors never fail to totally rock.  They have just released the Robertson Boulevard collection:

This pink is to die for.  Yellow, while not a color I can wear, if you can wear it, its gorgeous and super current.

Chanel polish retails for $25, and is available at your nearest Chanel boutique or online at Chanel.com.

BTW, what I *don’t* like about Chanel polish can be pretty easily remedied.  After a few uses, the polish thickens up to the point where it applies poorly and chips easier.  Try one or more of these tips to keep your polish in the best shape you can:

1.  To remedy thick polish - add a little bit of base coat to the polish, shake, and you should be in good shape.

2.  Always clean the neck of your bottle after each use with polish remover - this will keep air out which will cause the solvents in your polish to evaporate and thicken.

3.  One more thing you can do, which isn’t necessarily practical with Chanel or other expensive brands (unless you are totally hooked on the color), is buy two bottles.  Keep one as a refill bottle, and keep the working bottle always filled.  Again, this keeps air out of the bottle, keeping your polish fresh and thin.

I love Amanda Peet, she is definitely one of my very favorite actresses.  Not only is she a hysterical physical comic, I think she is truly gorgeous.  Always a funny combination, and really pretty unusual to come across!  Here is Amanda on the June cover of Lucky Magazine, out on stands May 6th.

And here is a little info about the shoot from Lucky:

“Low-maintenance” and “cover shoot” aren’t terms often used in the same sentence, but Amanda Peet, one of Lucky’s favorite stars, has always been easy. The funny and beautiful actress needed less than half an hour in hair and makeup, and then announced she’d be happy to wear anything, as long as there was a belt involved. “An outfit is so much cleaner when you can see your waist,” she explained.

Peet—who plays an FBI agent in the new X-Files movie—got her wish with the gorgeous outfit on this issue’s cover. “I’m not big into experimenting,” says the 36-year-old actress. “Preppy works for me, and I stick with it.”  And it’s true: She has a talent for combining classic, clean-cut items in a way that always looks great.

Well, that’s somewhat disgusting - I mean, I can’t imagine how long I would be back in hair and makeup if I were doing a magazine cover, but I guess that’s why Amanda makes the big bucks, and, well, why I sit behind a computer all day. :)   I love her nude lips with her more dramatic eyes - it goes perfectly with her.  I cannot imagine her in bright red lipstick at all.

Lucky Magazine readers (and you!) can register to win Amanda Peet’s cover look! Lucky is giving away her outfit and makeup worth more than $3,000 (*gasp* that is a lot of money for a non experimental outfit).  Also, the first 50 readers to register will receive a Mark Little Bronze Box.  Get on over there. :)

After the jump, check out a couple more Amanda Peet pics from the magazine.  She is an eBeauty for sure!

Pink and Green at Sephora

Written by on Wednesday, March 12th, 2008 in Beauty, Beauty Trends, Cosmetics, Style, cosmetic bags, gift-ideas, sephora.

sephora-makeup-bags I will likely never get over my pink and green fetish.  I still look at these cute Lilly Pulitzer skirts and have to stop myself every time.  But, these cutie pie makeup/travel bags from Sephora are going to get me, Im afraid.  This is the collection:

  • Large Handle Bag: A boxy, short-handled bag that unzips to reveal three smaller, removable inner cosmetic bags plus an inner zip compartment.

  • Pencil Case: Accommodates a plethora of brushes and pencils up to 8″ in length. It’s also great for discreetly toting makeup essentials.

  • Triangle Bag: This roomy case opens wide to reveal a deep inner compartment for all your daily makeup and skincare essentials, plus inner and outer slide pockets for easily retrievable items.

  • Clutch Bag: With its roomy detachable interior and special slots for pencils and brushes, this cosmetic case doubles as a clutch purse.

  • Hanging Bag: Store your cosmetics and toiletries in style when you travel with this easily portable hanging case.

The prices range from $12-48, and are exclusive to the great and wonderful Sephora.  Delish!

strobe-mac

Im sure you have figured out I am crazy over this iridescence beauty trend this spring.  I really am.  And MAC is bound to do it very well.  Today on counters is the Strobe collection:

The play of pearlescent light, the feeling of euphoria, the instant illumination that brightens and enlightens three ways: strobe cream, the richest, sheerest blend of soft-focus diffusers for the face and neck; strobe liquid, instant radiance in fluid, light-diffusion form with iridescent pigment; and tinted lip conditioner stick SPF15 with strobe pearl, broad spectrum protection, colour and moisture-soft allure. Use under or over colours and textures to glow on and on and on…

Yummy.  This collection, which includes some gorgeous Spring lip conditioner sticks, Strobe liquid and cream (all infused with iridescent pigments), is available today at MAC counters and on maccosmetics.com.  It’s MAC - it’s a don’t miss.

allure_backstage_300x250 This should be a fantastic show tonight, airing at 9pm on the Style Network. Linda Wells, esteemed editor in chief of Allure Magazine will be touching on all the hot trends from the runways. I am hoping this is Spring looks rather than Fall, but either way, it should be most interesting - don’t forget to tune in!

More about the show here.

napolean-perdis-poolside-polish Did you miss the release of Chanel’s Blue Satin?  If you did, don’t fear, and don’t run to eBay and spend double on it.  Napoleon Perdis has a gorgeous shade that matches Blue Satin perfectly, Poolside.

Napoleon Perdis is a relative newcomer to the American cosmetic marketplace, although he has had a multitude of stores and counters in his homeland of Australia, for a good long time now.  His full line is something that is very high up on my “try me” list, but it looks like the nail polish is going to be the catalyst to get me there quickly.  I really don’t think I can pass this up.

He has a full line of cosmetics, skin care and tools and brushes - of which I have heard great things already, at least enough to pique my interest.   Most of his line is available at Sephora, but I cannot find the nail color there (might possibly just be me…lol), so order straight from Napoleon Perdis here

Have you tried this line?  I would surely love to hear your opinions and your favorite products, so, as always - speak up!
