Hola Chickas

Written by on Thursday, April 24th, 2008 in About Me, Beauty, Beauty Books, Tanning, contests, sephora.

Oh I have been a slacker this week.  Ok, not really.  Super busy work week, and been eating Cold-eze and spraying that zinc-y nose goo trying to keep from getting sick.  Ugh.  And its soccer season.  And my dog is about to have puppies.  And the house keeper is coming tomorrow and things are upside down.  There is nothing I hate worse than feeling like I’m pulled in 92 different directions all the time, and always feeling behind.  Know what I mean?  Times like this week I don’t feel very supermom-y, and certainly don’t feel so beauty-full.  Regardless, I have a huge backup of things to talk about - new fun and not so fun purchases I have made, and some interesting new things that have been sent to me to try.  I am really going to try to do better from here on through the weekend and get caught up.  I adore my beauty, and even when I don’t have time to sit down here and tell you how much, I am always thinking about doing it.   So hang on, I hope to have an onslaught coming up.  After I finish my meetings in the morning.  Oy.  :)

I hope you all are managing to stay well and healthy - and are using your sunscreen.  I have spent a good bit of time outside this past couple of weeks doing gardening on the weekend and going to soccer games.  Wrinkle city.  And don’t forget, you have until Friday at midnight to enter the Sephora book/goodies contest.  I have a bunch of entries, all of which I hope to get up on the site tomorrow - some great gals with some great beauty bags have joined the contest - I sure hope you will too!

First of all, I want to welcome Tris Hussey and Manscaping-101 to the Beauty & Style channel!

manscaping-101-logo

If you don’t know Tris, he is a well known blogger and photographer in the Canadian tech niche (well, really the whole tech genre).  He shows his beautiful photography off at A View From the Isle, and talks Canadian geek-speak at Maple Leaf Two, and now he is getting into the really fun side of blogging with Manscaping-101 - a grooming blog.  Fun fun!  I hope you will hook your men up with this blog, Tris is a wonderful writer and is quite passionate about looking good!  Check out what he has up already - coupons, tattoo shaving (??), and he has already broached my favorite man-scent-topic (are you listening Darren and Grant?) - Burberry Brit.  Yeah (yum!)!  Welcome Tris!  xox

We also have some contests going on around the channel that you might like to know about:

Best of luck to you - and get out that camera and that beauty bag - this book from Sephora is a DON’T MISS!

Oh, you are gonna love this!  The fabulous publisher of *oh so many* wonderful beauty and fashion related books (among many, many others), Harper Collins, is sponsoring a wonderful contest on eBeautyDaily, starting today.  First the good stuff:

What will you win???

sephora-book

A copy of the brand new book, hitting the bookstores TODAY), SEPHORA.  Oh yeah.  You know that’s gonna be great.  But wait, there is more.  You are also going to snag a Sephora beauty bag filled with goodies from - guess who? - Sephora!  Fun fun, no?

So what do you have to do to win this fabulous load of swag?

I need to know what’s in your beauty bag.  You need to do two things:

  1. Send me (christina@b5media.com) a photo (or a URL to a photo) of what’s in your beauty bag.  And…
  2. Leave me a comment on this post letting me know you have sent your photo and want to be included in the contest.

Easy peasy.  The deadline to send me your pic (or URL) is midnight Eastern time on Friday the 25th of April - that gives you 10 days to enter, so don’t procrastinate!  By sending me your picture, you are giving me permission to post your image on eBeautyDaily, so please keep that in mind.  I will conduct a drawing for the winner after the contest closes.

While you are waiting to win, check out the Harper Collins site for a preview of the book - great stuff - I know we will ALL love it!

Perricone-AgelessFace-AgelessMind Dr. Nicholas Perricone’s cosmeceutical skin care line has had a makeover.  Out are the medical looking jars and bottles, and in is a sleek new look for each product and a new name, PerriconeMD Cosmeceuticals.

PerriconeMD’s Lynda Berkowitz, VP of Sales, tells WWD the reason for making these changes to the aesthetic of the system: “It used to be that she relied on the recommendation of her dermatologist or aesthetician. Now she has the confidence to make her own decision.”  Good for you!

The line now is divided into color coded categories (which I think is a GREAT change for the better):  Age Prevent for youthful skin, Age Correct for fine lines, Age Less to plump deep lines and sagging skin, Skin Clear to treat and prevent acne and Targeted care for specific needs.

I love Perricone’s products, but one of my biggest beefs with them was that there were so many products in little brown jars that it was really hard to pick and choose what you needed.  This should solve that.  My other beef is that all those little jars are crazy expensive.  But hopefully now that I know what I need via the color codes I won’t waste money trying to discern all those little jars now.

And check out Dr. Perricone’s latest book, Ageless Face, Ageless Mind at Amazon.
